Kolkata Police issues summon to Tripura CM’s OSD, warns of arrest if he fails to appear

Kolkata Police has issued summon Sanjay Mishra, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister of Tripura in connection to a case registered against him at Narkeldanga Police station.

New Delhi: While West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee met PM Modi in the national capital today, a political storm is brewing up between West Bengal & Tripura governments over issuing summons & threat of arrest of OSD of Biplab Deb.

Kolkata Police has issued summon Sanjay Mishra, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister of Tripura in connection to a case registered against him at Narkeldanga Police station.

The e-mail summon reads, “In exercise of the power conferred U/s 41A Cr. P.C., I do hereby inform you that you are the FIR named an accused person of the above referred case, and it is revealed during investigation that there are reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain the fact and circumstances from you. Hence, you are requested to appear at Narkeldanga PS on 25.11.2021 at 12:00 PM and meet the I.O. of the case S.I. S. Bandopadhyay of Narkeldanga PS.”

Through summon sent via mail, the Kolkata Police has warned of his arrest if the OSD fails to appear before the Police.

TMC leader held on charges of criminal conspiracy

The development a day after a TMC leader was arrested in Tripura for alleged involvement in inciting violence.

Tripura Police on Sunday arrested actor and TMC leader Saayoni Ghosh on charges of promoting enmity between people, attempt to murder, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy.
