Modi - CMs meet

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took stock of Covid-19 situation, in meeting with Chief Ministers of different states and also reviewed the vaccination progress. Speaking after the Covid-19 review meet, PM Modi stressed on the need for creating micro-containment zones and extensive testing as a means to combat the second wave of Coronavirus.

# 11th to 14th April can be observed as ‘Tika (vaccination) Utsav’ for COVID19 vaccination: PM Modi

# During our discussion, we raised the issue of mortality rate, we have to make sure it remains as low as possible. We should have comprehensive data about patients illnesses etc. this will help save their lives: PM Modi to CMs

# We must concentrate on micro-containment zones. In places where night curfew has been imposed, I would urge to use the word ‘Corona Curfew’, to continue alertness about coronavirus. It will be better to start curfew timing from 9pm or 10pm till 5am or 6am: PM Modi

# 11th April is the birth anniversary of Jyotiba Phule and 14th is the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Can we do a mass vaccination programme from 11-14th April for the eligible people with zero wastage and use our resources optimally?

# We have crossed the mark of vaccinating 40 lakh people in one day. Criteria set by the world’s most developed nations is no different to the ones set by India.

# Our target should be to test at least 30 contacts in 72 hours per COVID positive patient. The borders of containment zones should be particular and not vague.

# We have to increase testing a lot. We must bring down positive rate below 5%. Our target is to do 70% RT-PCR tests.

COVID19 tracing and tracking is way to curb COVID19 infection

# Our experience says ‘Test, track and treat’ is the mantra to go forward. We must also focus on COVID appropriate behaviour and COVID management.

# The last time, we had brought active COVID cases from 10 lakh to 1.25 lakh. The strategy that made it possible is equally effective even today.

# All of you must use the experiences from the first wave to combat the second wave. Today, we have all the resources and thus, it is a challenge for our governance. We must focus on micro-containment zones.

# I appeal to you all to stress on COVID19 testing. Our target is to do 70% RT-PCR tests. Let the number of positive cases come high, but do maximum testing. Proper sample collection is very important, it can be checked through proper governance: PM Modi during meeting with CMs

# There is a need to work on war footing again to fight COVID19. Despite all the challenges, we have a better experience, resources & a vaccine: PM Modi

# We need to fight the second surge in cases. Many states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Punjab have crossed first wave of peak in
COVID19 cases. This is a serious concern. People have become complacent. In most States administration has also become relaxed: PM

# “A challenging situation is emerging again. I request you all to give your suggestions to tackle the COVID19 situation”, says PM Modi
