Lockdown will not be lifted in one go on April 14: PM Modi to opposition leaders

PM has told opposition leaders that the kind of response and suggestions he has received does not indicate that lock down should be lifted.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with floor leaders of parties whose combined strength in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adds up to 5 MPs, via video conferencing today, on COVID19 situation in the country.

During the interaction with MPs, PM said situation in the country is akin to a ‘social emergency’; it has necessitated tough decisions and we must continue to remain vigilant.

States, District administrations and Experts have suggested extension of Lockdown to contain spread of the virus, he added.

BJD’s Pinaki Misra after the PM meet 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear that lockdown will not be lifted in one go on April 14, said BJD’s Pinaki Misra after the PM meet with leaders of other parties.

Misar told news agency PTI, that PM Modi told them that pre-corona and post-corona life wouldn’t be the same.

 15 UP districts to be sealed, only doorstep deliveries allowed

15 districts – including Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Agra, Shamli, Saharanpur – which have viral load of #COVID19, to be sealed. Only home delivery & medical teams will be allowed there. It’s being done to prevent community spread,as numbers are high, said Chief secretary RK Tiwari.
