Lok Sabha security breach: Parliamentarians share 1st experience of intrusion into House (VIDEO)

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha witnessed a startling security breach on Tuesday, as two unidentified persons barged into the House while LIVE proceedings were underway. The dramatic incident created wide commotion inside the House as Parliamentarians were left shell-shocked over such intrusion by two unidentified youth.

The House has been adjourned till 2 PM and investigation is underway over security scare.

Parliametarians share ‘moment of horror’

A lot many Parliamentarians who witnessed the startling intrusion by two unknown men, narrated the ‘moment of horror’ to mediapersons.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, spoke about the incident and narrated how scary was the situation when the security lapse happened. He informed that the two men not only barged into the House but also hurled an object that emitted yellow gas. He said that the situation was extremely worrying & frightening, however, the quick response by Parliamentarians & security personnel resulted in pinning down the House.

Samajwadi Party leader Dimple Yadav said that it was a very frightening experience, anything could have happened today. Calling out the security lapse, she urged for enhanced security arrangements inside the House.

Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant narrated the entire incident and expressed apprehension over existing security system.

“Two people from the visitors gallery were hanging from the pillar before taking a plunge in the House. After they jumped into the House, they started taking a leap on the benches, leaving everyone startled. The two men also had probably some gas canisters, which they unleashed while running amok in the House,” he said.

“While one of them tried to remove his shoes, the security men closed in and nabbed him. The second one was also apprehended by the security personnel,” he further informed.

Besides big security lapse, the incident has raised big concerns about security establishment and the existing protocols inside Parliament. As the breach coincides with the 22nd anniversary of 2001 Parliament attack, it has sent fresh alarm bells ringing for the security establishment. Today’s incident calls for thorough investigation and review of security protocols so that the temple of democracy could be insulated from such security breaches in future.
