Madhya Pradesh Opinion poll: BJP to return to power if polls held today, finds Matrize Survey

Zee News in partnership with Matrize conducted an opinion poll in the state with sample size of 46,000. The survey, conducted between May 24 to June 24 threw up good news for the ruling dispensation.

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh is gearing for Assembly elections, slated for later this year and political parties including BJP & Congress have already sounded the poll bugle.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi reached Madhya Pradesh on two-day visit and sought to give shape to its ‘guarantees yojana’which yielded strong dividends for party in Karnataka.

Moreover, the recent launch of Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana by CM Shivraj Chouhan found strong connect with women as under the scheme, state govt will give monetary assistance of Rs 1,000 per month with certain riders. The move is seen as govt’s attempt to reach out to 1 crore women in the state, ahead of Assembly polls this year.

Who will win, if elections held today

According to the Matrize Opinion poll, if elections are held today, BJP is likely to fetch about 45% votes while Congress is projected at closer second with about 39% votes.

Translating this into number of seats, BJP would emerge as single largest party with 119 to 129 seats while Congress would be at the second spot with seats ranging between 94 to 114. Other parties are not seen to be impacting much in the Assembly elections as they are likely to be limited at just 4-9 seats.

BJP’s big gain in Vindhya

While many assembly state are likely to witness close fight, Vindhya region is expected to give clear margin to BJP.
The survey projects BJP to bag at least 31-36 seats in 56 member Assembly while Congress tally would get limited to around 20 seats in the region.
