The five-judge Supreme Court, in its crucial judgement today came down harshly on Eknath Shinde & Fadnavis government however, it doesn’t threaten CM Shinde’s chair as was anticipated earlier.

The Supreme Court said that Governor BS Koshiyari erred in seeking a floor test after rebellion by a faction of Shiv Sena legislators.

Speaking on the SC judgement, Uddhav said that he could have become Chief Minister again had he faced the Floor Test and not resigned, days after rebellion within the party. Uddhav said that he chose to ‘exit from power’ as his goal was to work for the people and not just stay fixed to chair.

Earlier, the Apex court found Speaker’s conduct wrong but also stated that it can’t restore previous govt as the then CM didn’t face the floor test.

“They (now Shinde faction MLAs) betrayed my party and the legacy of my father. My resignation as the CM then may have been wrong legally, but I did it on moral grounds,” said Uddhav Thackeray.

Uddhav Thackeray was today visited by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who has been rallying support for an third alternative against the ruling BJP. Nitish accompanied by RJD leader Tejashwi to ‘Matoshree’ in Mumbai.
