Major bureaucratic reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh: 10 districts get new District Magistrates

New Delhi: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi government on Saturday replaced the District Magistrates (DMs) of 10 districts including Ayodhya, Jhansi, Mahrajganj, Mahoba and others.

The major shake-up in the administrative machinery comes months ahead of the Assembly elections slated for early next year.

Among the most prominent transfers include Nitish Kumar who has been appointed as new Ayodhya DM. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Manvendra and Ravindra Kumar Singh have been made DMs of Farrukhabad, Bareli and Jhansi.

14 IPS officers transferred

Not just the District Magistrates but a number of senior IPS officers have also been transferred from their existing positions. SPs of 2 districts namely Agra and Barabanki have been removed.
