Masks made mandatory in Noida; thermal screening must at school, colleges & public places

New Delhi: As the Covid-19 cases continue to rise at alarming levels in Delhi & National Capital Region (NCR), the Noida administration has stepped up alert level and made masks mandatory. Instructions have also been issued for thermal screening at public places including malls, shopping complexes and maintaining social distancing, as following during pandemic break-out, two years ago.

Gautam Budh Nagar Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Sunil Sharma issued the wide-ranging instructions in public good. As per the order, people are expected to follow all Covid-related guidelines & protocols and discourage themselves from visiting any crowded places, especially if one has some flu-like symptoms.

Noida schools & colleges have been asked to space out the seating arrangement in classes and also carry thermal screening before entry in school. Those showing symptoms of cold, cough or other illness should be directed to stay at home.

Apart from educational institutions & workplaces, all public places will remain out of bounds for people if they don’t come wearing masks. The administration has also asked malls, cinema halls & public transports to ensure minimum crowding. Thermal screening will be back at the malls & cinema halls and other public places.

The recent surge in Coronavirus cases has come as a fresh wake-up call for city administration. The low level of fatality, this time, is understood to be reason for people not adhering to Covid guidelines but the medical fraternity is indeed alarmed over sudden spike.

India recorded 11,000 Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, with Delhi alone recording more than 1500 caes. Noida also saw fresh 114 cases on Thursday, throwing the city administration in panic mode.
