New Delhi: A hashtag, Mohammed Zubair, is trending on Wednesday at top of Twitter in India. This came in the backdrop of interim bail granted by the Supreme Court of India to Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair in all the six cases registered against him across Uttar Pradesh. The top court also ordered the transfer of all the cases against Zubair to the Delhi Police Special Cell.

Earlier on July 18, the Court ordered the Uttar Pradesh Police to not take any action against Zubair in connection with FIRs in Lakhimpur Kheri, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, and two in Hathras districts over his tweets till July 20.
In today’s order, the court asked the Superintendent of Tihar Jail must ensure that Zubair is released before 6 PM after submitting the bond of Rs. 20,000.
