“Do not send your daughters to co-eds”, Jamiyat chief’s Talibani appeal to Non-Muslims

Many Muslim leaders and clerics have earlier praised the Taliban and its violent takeover in Kabul in one way or another.

New Delhi: Initially the Islamic leaders in India have had a sympathetic approach towards Afghanistan’s terror outfit Taliban. Later, for the last few days many were seen openly praising the terror group, calling it new and improved. And now, they’ve even started to make statements as orthodox and outrageous as Taliban’s ideology.

Jamiyat Ulema-e-Hind Chief Arshad Madani on Monday, made a controversial statement urging the Non-Muslim community not to send their daughters to the co-ed institutions. The logic behind this conservative request was to ‘protect the girls from eve-teasing and sexual harassments’.

Such advises from the Islamic leaders often encourages their own community to forbid the girls to study in co-ed institutions, which further impacts there education and confidence to get along with a gender neutral society.

Madani further demands for more separate educational institutions for girls.

Earlier a Samajwadi Party MP from Sambhal (UP), Shafiqur Rahman Barq, had applauded Taliban and its takeover in Afghanistan. Bharatiya Janta Party had filed a formal complaint against Barq in the matter.

Meanwhile, many Muslim leaders and clerics have earlier praised the Taliban and its undemocratic/violent takeover in Kabul in one way or another.
