Must have Covid –ve report: Maharashtra amends rules for visitors from Delhi, Goa, Rajasthan & Gujarat

Maha issues SoPs for air, train commuters: Those without Covid negative tests will have to undergo compulsory RT-PCR test at the respective airports at their own cost and if tested positive will have to undergo treatment as per protocol.

New Delhi: Amid fears of second Covid-19 wave and spike in new cases, Maharashtra government on Monday issued fresh Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) for commuters from Delhi, Gujarat, Goa and Rajasthan.

According to Maharashtra’s SoP, travellers from these states must have RT-PCR negative test report with them before visiting the state. And, this regulation will be applicable for flight as well as train commuters.

“Sample collection of passengers should have been done 72 hours of scheduled time of airports in Maharashtra,” said the state govt guideline.

Those without Covid negative tests will have to undergo compulsory RT-PCR test at the respective airports at their own cost and if tested positive will have to undergo treatment as per protocol.

For Railway commuters, the RT-PCR sample collection should have been taken 96 hours, prior to arrival in the state.

Passengers without Covid negative report will be screened for symptoms and body temperature checked after alighting at the railway station. Those without symptoms would be allowed to go home but those with symptoms will be sent to Covid Care Centres.
