Narada case: TMC ministers, MLAs granted bail by Special CBI court

The CBI had arrested the ruling Trinamool Congress leaders and ministers Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee, TMC MLA Madan Mitra and former party leader and minister Sovon Chatterjee on Monday morning.

New Delhi: A Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Monday granted bail to 2 Bengal ministers, 1 Trinamool Congress MLA and a former minister arrested in Narada sting case.

The CBI had arrested the ruling Trinamool Congress leaders and ministers Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee, TMC MLA Madan Mitra and former party leader and minister Sovon Chatterjee on Monday morning.

Earlier in the day, WB CM Mamata Banerjee had said that the court will decide on the matter while expressing disappointment over the arrests.

TMC supremo made these remarks after walking out of CBI’s office at Nizam Palace in south Kolkata after about 6 hours.

The arrest of four leaders had sparked flurry of protests outside the probe agency’s office.

As TMC supporters shouted slogans and pelted stones at central forces stationed outside, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee stormed into the CBI office and demanded to be arrested along with her leaders.
