Narayan Rane’s arrest over remarks against Uddhav riles up BJP; evokes strong reactions

New Delhi: Union Minister Narayan Rane’s arrest over his comments that he would give ‘tight slap’ to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for ‘forgetting’ India’s Year of Independence has elicited strong reactions from the top BJP functionaries.

BJP leaders have hit out at the high-handed approach of Uddhav-led Maharasthra government and called out its abuse of law.

It may be noted that Narayana Rane, a tall Sena leader himself before stint with BJP, commands strong support and mass base and his arrest just over a statement has riled up BJP workers as well as his own supporters. BJP workers & volunteers protested against his arrest and lashed out at Uddhav dispensation.

BJP President JP Nadda has hit out at Uddhav government for showing utter disregard of the constitutional values in Rane’s arrest.

“Such despotic rule won’t cow us down. Party is getting huge support from people in its Jan Ashirwad Yatra. We will continue to oppose and fight the tyrannical rule of Sena-led alliance,” Nadda said warning the state govt.

BJP leaders Nitesh Ran and Neelesh Rane also sat on dharna at Ratnagiri SP office to protest against his arrest.
