
New Delhi: After Maharashtra’s Nashik Oxygen leak incident, at least 22 patient on ventilator died due to shortage of oxygen supply in Dr Zakir Hussain Hospital on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of patients due to it.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “The tragedy at a hospital in Nashik because of oxygen tank leakage is heart-wrenching. Anguished by the loss of lives due to it. Condolences to the bereaved families in this sad hour.”

Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his deepest condolence, he wrote, “I am distressed to hear the news of the accident of oxygen leak in a hospital in Nashik. I express my deepest condolences on this irreparable loss of those who have lost their loved ones in this accident. I pray to God for the efficiency of all the other patients. (He Tweeted in Hindi)

58,924 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours, according to the state health ministry. As many as 52,412 people recovered in the said period and 351 died. The total case tally reached 38,98,262 while the death toll reached 60,824.
