Next ‘Mahakumbh’ in Prayagraj will be an example of arrangements and grandeur before the world: UP CM Yogi Adityanath

UP Government: The CM asserted that the money meant for development should not be used elsewhere otherwise it will invite stringent action from the government.

Lucknow: After organizing the highly successful Kumbh 2019 as ‘Divya Kumbh: Bhavya Kumbh’ , the Uttar Pradesh government will make the next Mahakumbh in Prayagraj as a memorable one with exemplary arrangements and grandeur. Making this announcement, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked the officials to start preparations for the ‘Mahakumbh’ falling in 2025 and directed that the development works in Prayagraj should be planned while keeping the next Mahakumbh in mind. He also directed to observe ‘Kalpvas’ in the coming Magh mela in Prayag as per Covid protocol.

The CM on Tuesday directed the officials to expedite the construction work of Rajju Bhaiyya University in Prayagraj besides fast tracking the Rs 1600 crore Smart City Mission in the Sangam City. He also mentioned the parking woes in Prayagraj and put emphasis on multi-level parking’s in the city. He further pointed out that the construction of Lal Bahadur Shastri Homeopathic Medical College is lying pending since the last two and a half decades and should be completed fast. .

CM Yogi reviews development projects of Prayagraj

The Chief Minister was reviewing the development projects of Prayagraj division comprising Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratagarh and Fatehpur through Video Conferencing. There are 30 mega-projects with cost of over Rs 50 crore each in the division. The Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Senior Ministers Siddharth Nath Singh, Neelkanth Tiwari, Ram naresh Agnihotri, Mahendra Singh, Moti Singh , and Chandrika Prasad Upadhyay along with all the public representatives of the division were present in the meeting presided overby the Chief Minister. The CM had interaction with them and received direct feedback about the development works in their respective constituencies.

Teaching in the medical colleges of Fatehpur, Pratapgarh and Kaushambi from the next session

The CM also directed to pace the construction of the medical colleges of Prataparh, Kaushambi and Fatehpur in such a manner so that the teaching may be started from the next session.

The CM insisted to follow all Covid protocol as the protection is all we need today. “Let us all understand it well that protection is the only option before us till some medicine or vaccine comes on the market, ” he added while asserting that the effective surveillance system and contact tracing can save many lives from Covid besides spreading mass awareness at every level.

Physical verification of the project at the earliest

Putting emphasis on maintaining the timeline of all the projects, he pointed out that the utilisation certificate should be furnished after physical verification of the project at the earliest. He said to achieve timely completion of the projects but at the same time there should not be any compromise with the quality of work. Complementing Prayagraj in construction of community toilets, the Chief Minister laid stress on the hundred percent geo-tagging of toilets constructed under PM Awas Yojana, CM Awas Yojana or Swacch Bharat Mission.

Generate jobs under MNREGS work

The CM asserted that the money meant for development should not be used elsewhere otherwise it will invite stringent action from the government. Generate jobs under MNREGS work and accommodate migrant labour as much as possible. He also directed to conserve water in every possible way and there is an urgent need to revive and conserve natural water bodies, ponds and wells.

He said that the repair of roads should be undertaken at a war-footing after the rains are over. Make roads free of potholes before onset of festival season.

The CM said that the paddy purchase centres should be set up where required as the paddy purchase season is commencing on October 1,2020. he asked to ensure the farmers do not get the price less than the MSP.

The Chief Minister said the Rs one lakh crore has been earmarked to improve agriculture infrastructure. The setting up of FPOs and construction of warehouses and other storage facilities should be done on the priority basis, he said .

He directed to facilitate loaning to the entrepreneurs to set up MSME units. he also asked the districts to showcase, develop and market the products under One District One Product (ODOP) in an organised manner.
