No rape in Hathras incident, says UP ADG citing forensic report; warns of action for stoking caste tension

UP ADG (Law & Order) today said that the Hathras girl was not rape and she died of neck injuries. He added that it was an attempt to stir caste-based tensions and those who spread false information will be caught and acted upon.

New Delhi: In a shocking statement, Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law & order) Prashant Kumar on Thrusday said that the 19-year-old girl of Hathras was not raped as forensic report of her viscera didn’t find any semen.

The top cop claimed that the post-mortem report proved that the girl died of neck injury and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report not finding any sign of rape indicates that it was a conspiracy to stir caste-based tensions.

“Such people will be identified and legal action will be taken,” ADG told the media persons.

ADG Prashant Kumar said the FSL report has clearly said that no sperm or ova were found in the samples collected from vaginal swab. He said that along with the FSL report, the postmortem report has suggested that the cause of death of the deceased was due trauma following injury in the neck.

He said it also exposed the conspiracy of those who tried to push the state into a caste turmoil. The police action in this case had been prompt to prevent any untoward incident under the prevailing circumstances.

The state government has already set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the Hathras incident.
Mr Kumar said that the SIT probe is sure to unveil the evil designs of vested interests who wanted to create an atmosphere of disharmony in Uttar Pradesh.

The CM has already ordered strict exemplary action against the guilty, he pointed out. He said that it would now be probed as to who was responsible for this malafide campaign and twisted the facts despite the statements of the responsible officers otherwise.
