Undressed woman knocks doorbells at night in UP’s Rampur; cops launch probe

The woman’s family members have been counseled to avoid similar circumstances in the future, according to the police, who also asked the public to stop circulating false information.

New Delhi: In a terrible incident, a naked woman having mental health problems knocked on doorbells in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, at night.

The police said on Saturday that the woman in the allegedly videotaped image of her ringing the doorbells of numerous homes in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, had been identified. After speaking with the woman’s parents, the Rampur police stated that she had “mental health” problems and had supposedly been receiving therapy in Bareilly for the previous five years.

The woman’s family members have been counseled to avoid similar circumstances in the future, according to the police, who also asked the public to stop circulating false information.

According to reports, the incident occurred on January 29 at night. Police opened an investigation following a complaint from a local citizen. The woman is apparently seen on the CCTV tape wandering the streets of Rampur’s Milak village. In response to footage posted online, the Rampur police department’s official Twitter account announced on February 2 that a team has been assembled to look into the situation.

On February 3, a police officer advised the public to dress the woman first and then notify the closest station if they saw her on the streets in a tweeted video. In order to locate the woman and take appropriate action, he noted, the video was being examined.

In a somewhat similar incident, an Italian passenger on a Vistara flight was detained by Mumbai Police on Monday after attacking the flight attendants and making her way down the aisle while partially clothed. Paola Perruccio, 45, allegedly attacked and spit on the cabin crew after being denied a business class seat while traveling on an economy class ticket.
