India on October 21 marked the successful vaccination of 100 crore citizens against Covid-19. Definitely, it was a tough task for the country after the gut-wrenching circumstances and crisis India witnessed earlier this year, but this day will bear a historical significance throughout because of its success.
PM Narendra Modi rightly said, “We are witnessing the triumph of Indian science, enterprise, and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians.” To celebrate the hard works of all the frontline workers of our country such as doctors, nurse amongst others as well the support of the citizens, the Archaeological Survey of India under the Union ministry of culture illuminated 100 monuments all across India.
The illumination of 100 monuments in tricolour gave the message to the world that our motherland is slowly but successfully fighting against the pandemic. Here are some glimpses of a few monuments that stood highlighted on an auspicious day.
The Humanyun’s Tomb located in Delhi was illuminated in tricolour by the Archaeological Survey of India on October 21.
Agra Fort, the historic fort built during the Mughal dynasty was also lighted up.
Shah Jahan’s Taj Mahal took aesthetically beautiful with tricolour lights showered on them.
A popular visual of Red Fort on Republic Day changed its attire on October 21 with tricolour lights being illuminated on them.
The Qutab Minar located in the national capital looked splendid with tricolour on them.
The Char Minar of Telangana’s Hyderabad was also illuminated on the occasion of the 100 crore vaccination mark.
The Konark Sun Temple in Orissa’s Puri looked amazing owing to the Archaeological Survey of India’s initiative.
The Pari Mahal or Peer Mahal in Srinagar was also illuminated on Thursday.
The beautiful Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar grabbed the attention on being lighted up with Indian tricolour.
The Nalanda University Ruins in Bihar was also illuminated marking the celebration of 100 crore vaccination mark.
Metcalfe Hall, the British heritage building located in Kolkata was bearing the tricolour lights marking the occasion.
Bekal Fort in Kasargod was also illuminated.
The Bhubaneshwari Temple in Tripura’s Rajnagar, also witnessed the tri-colour light falls on it.
The Indian Parliament marked the auspicious day by getting illuminated by Archaeological Survey of India’s initiative.
Sher Shah located in the Sasaram town of Bihar was showered with tricolour lights.
Shaniwar Wada fort in Pune got illuminated in tricolour to mark the occasion.
Bengaluru’s Tipu Sultan got coloured with colours o Indian flag celebrating the 100 crore vaccination mark. The monument looked beautiful.
Old Currency Building in Kolkata also got lighted up with tricolour looking aesthetically beautiful.
Indian Council of Medical Research building in New Delhi also got illuminated to celebrate the success of India.
New Delhi’s Purana Qila looked splendid when showered with tricolour on October 21.
