Pak admits to Pulwama terror attack but this is how parties made it political fodder back home

Pakistan makes shocking admission about Pulwama attack in its National Assembly. Here are those political parties/leaders who politicised the issue and rather blamed Modi govt, calling it an orchestrated move for reaping political benfits.

New Delhi: In a shocking admission, Pakistan government on Thursday officially admitted to its role in planning and executing Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on February 19, 2019 that left 40 CRPF jawans dead.

Fawad Hussain Choudhry, a federal minister in Imran Khan government made the shocking admission on the floor of National Assembly and also termed it a big achievement of Imran Khan government.

“Humne Hindustan ko ghus ke maara (we hit India inside their territory). Pulwama was a success of the people under the leadership of Imran Khan,” Imran minister said in Pakistan National Assembly.

How parties exploited Pulwama attack for political benefits?

Pulwama terror attack sparked debate on how India would respond to Pakistan. However, more shocking than the terror attack was reaction of political parties. Rather than speaking in one voice and condemning the dastardly attack with full force, many parties sought to score political points by pointing fingers at Indian Army and Modi govt.

Within days, Indian Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan by vapourising terror launchpads operating from its soil by conducting Balakot airstrikes. But, some parties went to the extent of saying that it was the handiwork of Modi government for securing votes.

TMC chief asked, why a large convoy of CRPF personnel was allowed to move on the highway despite the government having intelligence inputs about a possible terror strike.
