PM Modi rips into Cong over cash haul from party MP’s residence, BJP shares ‘money heist’ VIDEO

Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released a video showing huge cash haul from Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu’s residence by the investigative agencies.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday tore into Congress over the huge cash pile recovered from party lawmaker’s premises from Jharkhand.

Taking a caustic jibe at the grand old party & its ‘history of graft’, PM Modi said that there was no need for ‘money heist’ fiction if Congress party was here.

Earlier in the day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released a video showcasing huge cash haul from Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu’s residence by the investigative agencies.

PM Modi slammed the grand old party for spate of corruption & graft under its rule, spread over past 70 years since independence.

The video showcases huge cash stored in various almirahs & storage boxes. It also shows top Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge sharing dais with the accused lawmaker. The BJP has gone full guns blazing against the Congress for its ‘tacit support’ to corruption and allowing such amassing of illicit cash.

Congress silence and BJP’s all round attack on I-T department’s biggest ever cash seizure also sets the tone for 2024 Lok Sabha polls. It shows Modi government’s clear resolve to corner the Congress on corruption plank by exposing its ‘dirty deeds’.

For the uninitiated, the Income Tax sleuths made an astounding recovery of Rs 351 crore in cash from Congress Odisha MP’s premises. The scale of illicit cash has given much ammunition to the BJP to amp up its attack on Congress while the pictures of cash haul left the nation shell-shocked.

Cash haul puts Cong on backfoot

Congress has distanced itself from the whole controversy, terming it a personal matter of Dheeraj Sahu but the BJP has been unsparing in its attack.

Cash haul --

It asked, how the person who lost Lok Sabha was sent to Rajya Sabha by Congress party. Wasn’t the party benefitting from Sahu’s cash haul and whether this illicit cash was being routed for 2024 elections?” BJP further claimed that the Congress party rewarded him for amassing illegal cash.

Notably, an amount of Rs 351 crore cash was seized during raids on offices of Odisha-based distillery and entities linked to it in Jharkhand & Bengal. The distillery belongs to Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu.

A lot many cash counting machines were rushed to the spot as couple of them went bust due to overheating. After multiple days of counting, the agencies rounded up the seized cash at about Rs 351 crore.
