PM Modi to inaugurate 2 new Metro Lines in Mumbai; foundation was laid in 2015

As Prime Minister dedicates the new Metro Lines worth around Rs 12,600, it will be another step towards building seamless connectivity in the metropolitan city.

New Delhi: Phase II of the Mumbai Metro will kick off on January 19, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates 2 newly constructed lines of the Metro corridor. The new Metro Lines are Line 2A and Line 7.

The first Metro Line 2A will run from DN Nagar Andheri to Dahisar while Line 7 will be operational from Dahisar East to Andheri East. Phase 1 of Mumbai metro got operational last year between Aarey and Dhanukarwadi.

As Prime Minister dedicates the new Metro Lines worth around Rs 12,600, it will be another step towards building seamless connectivity in the metropolitan city.

Together, the two lines will cover 35 kilometer distance with at least 30 elevated metro stations along the route. Metro Line 2A (yellow line) is around 18.6 Km long, while Metro line 7 (red line) is about 16.5 Km long.

Interestingly, the foundation stone of these two lines was also laid by the Prime Minister himself in 2015. Now, its inauguration by PM Modi will only showcase his govt’s resolve & commitment in delivering projects on time.

Prime Minister has time & again shown his inclination for laying the groundwork for any project & its inauguration in his own tenure.

Another precious feature of the project is that the coaches of these Metro trains have been indigenously developed.
These metro lines will become operational for common public from January 20.
