Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar and others salute brave Indian soldiers on Kargil Vijay Diwas

On July 26, 1999, the Indian armed forces had defeated Pakistan. Since then, the day is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas to rekindle the pride and valour of the soldiers who took part in Operation Vijay.

New Delhi: Congress’ Rahul Gandhi today posted a tweet on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

He  tweeted in Hindi, saying, “On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I salute the brave heroes who protect India by dedicating everything. Jai Hind.”

Other Congress leaders too took to Twitter to pay tribute to our bravehearts.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also tweeted saying “On this day, Indian soldiers chased the Pakistani intruders and waved the tricolor on Tiger Hill in Kargil. Happy Kargil Vijay Diwas to the entire country. Salutate to all the brave martyrs, soldiers of the country who protected the motherland regardless of their lives. Jai Hind.”
