Rajasthan: Ex-minister’s daughter abducted in daylight while she went to buy vegetables

The former minister reached the spot but couldn’t locate his daughter as well as her scooter. Her mobile phone is also switched off.

New Delhi: In a shocking development, former Rajasthan minister Gopal Keshawat’s daughter was kidnapped in broad daylight in Jaipur while she was buying vegetables from the market. A case of kidnapping has been lodged by the former minister & Congress leader. Police is scanning the CCTC footage to identify the suspects.

Abhilasha Keshawat, the 21-year-old daughter of senior Congress leader went to market last evening at around 5 PM to buy vegetables. Moments later, her father & former Rajasthan minister received a call from daughter on his mobile, claiming that some hooligans were chasing her. She asked him to come to her rescue immediately.

The former minister reached the spot but couldn’t locate his daughter as well as her scooter. Her mobile phone is also switched off.

Following the daylight abduction of her daughter, Gopal Kesawat lodged a complaint against four persons in Pratapnagar police station. Among those named for daughter’s kidnapping include suspects Jai Singh, Vijendra, Devendra & Radha.

Owing to high-profile status of the case, cops swung into action and deployed teams to nab the kidnappers. After long hours of searches & raids, the police found success in recovering Abhilasha Kesawat’s scooty near the Jaipur airport. For tracing her location, the cops are scanning CCTV footage and also making enquiry from locals.

Gopal Kesawat has been a minister in previous Gehlot government. Reports suggest that his family came under target earlier also, apparently driven by family feud.
