Rajasthan’s 1st Vande Bharat chugs off: Know ticket fares, train timings & more

The train will connect Rajasthan’s Ajmer district with Delhi cantonment, providing faster connectivity from capital than before.

New Delhi: Rajasthan became the latest state to have its first edition of Vande Bharat Express train, taking the total tally to 14 till date. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday flagged off Rajasthan’s 1st Vande Bharat train via video conference.

The train will connect Rajasthan’s Ajmer district with Delhi cantonment, providing faster connectivity from capital than before. Though the route has some Shatabdi & Rajdhani trains running on this route but the addition of modern new-age Vande Bharat trains, this will give major fillip to tourism in state’s many religious centres. Notably, Ajmer Sharif & Pushkar are two most visited destinations in the state every year.

About Vande Bhart ticket price & journey time

The Vande Bharat train will commence its first journey for public on Thursday and will ply on tracks everyday, except Wednesday.

Those commuting through this train can visit the capital & return to Ajmer on the same day. The train will leave Ajmer at 6.20 am in morning & will reach Delhi cantonment at 11.30 am while from Delhi, it will leave at 6.40 pm & will reach Ajmer by 11.55 PM.

The train will have some halts in the journey, namely Jaipur, Alwar, Gurgaon. The total time taken by Vande Bharat in connecting Ajmer-Delhi stands at 5.15 hours.

About ticket fare

The Vande Bharat is expected to emerge as top choice of commuters as they will get better value for money. The ticket fare of 1 trip from Delhi to Ajmer stands at Rs 12,50 including meal (chair car) while executive class will cost Rs 22,270/.

Those for travelling from Ajmer to Delhi Cantonment will need to pay Rs 1,085 (Chair car) & Rs 2,075 (Executive Class).

Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains, which also connect Ajmer-Delhi take around 5.50 hours and 6.45 hours respectively. In Shatabdi, chair car ticket costs Rs 1,100 in Shatabdi while executive class incur a cost of Rs 1,715/.
