
New Delhi: RCP Singh was on Sunday chosen as the new president of Janata Dal (United).
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had proposed the name of Singh for the top post, which was then approved by other members during the party’s national executive meeting, a senior leader told PTI.
Nitish Kumar ji decided to relinquish the post of party president and proposed the name of RCP Singh for the same, following which RCP Singh has been elected as new party chief for next three years, said Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi.
KC Tyagi further expressed anguish over six JDU MLAs from Arunachal Pradesh joining Bharatiya Janata Party.
He said that ,”this is not a good sign for alliance politics.”

Singh, a bureaucrat-turned-politician, was so far the general secretary of the regional party.
