Roads in millennium city filled with potholes… images portray pathetic condition, time for authorities to wake-up

New Delhi: One good spell of rains and Gurugram, the millennium city turns into a disaster. Waterlogging in many areas, potholes in arterial roads, long queues of vehicles and power outages are common issues, the residents face on year to year basis. Clearly, the civic administration has learnt no lessons and remains as helpless and miserable as any city resident.

This year, Gurugram hasn’t received much rains but the condition of roads remains pitiable, dangerous and life-threatening. The main road connecting Delhi and Gurugram Sector 109 is in bad shape and below images speak for themselves about the callous and indifferent behavior of city administration and civic authorities.

A couple of accidents have occurred here due to waterlogging. Not just bikers but also three-wheelers and four-wheelers are also at risk while passing through this stretch of road.

A couple of people have been seriously injured in the accident which happened here, because of the pathetic condition of the road.

Administration’s apathy at display

The pitiable condition of roads and the life-threatening risk it poses to resident, clearly calls for urgent and immediate action by authorities. But, it’s unfortunate that civic authority of Gurugram and Delhi along with MLAs and MPs of this area have not paid any heed to it. The pictures are self-explanatory and speak volumes about its neglect by the authorities.

The nation is already waging a war against Coronavirus pandemic and we seem to be on advantage but such ‘man-made’ disaster must be dealt with immediately and earnestly. Clearly, this is the least residents can expect from their representatives.
