Rs 500 ‘bribe’ for Congress dharna?: Agitators admit money paid to join stir, didn’t know reason for protest

In a video accessed by Times Now news channel, the agitators in Hyderabad were reportedly paid Rs 500 ‘bribe’ to join the ‘Satyagrah’ against Rahul’s questioning by the ED officials.

New Delhi: While Congress leaders, workers and supporters hit the streets on Monday to protest the questioning of Rahul Gandhi before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with National Herald case, videos emerged showing chaos & disorder in the party ranks.

In a video accessed by Times Now news channel, the agitators in Hyderabad were reportedly paid Rs 500 ‘bribe’ to join the ‘Satyagrah’ against Rahul’s questioning by the ED officials.

Many of these agitators, when questioned, didn’t even know the reason behind demonstrations. They admitted on camera that they were paid Rs 500 to join the protest and carry the Congress flag.

In a show of strength, top Congress leaders held demonstrations outside many ED offices across the country but the most baffling fact was that those participating in rally didn’t even know why they were carrying Cong flags. Some said that it was part of a solidarity march with slogans like ‘Bharat chodo, nafrat hatao’ while others reiterated the general diatribe against the ruling BJP.

In another startling incident, youth Congress leader BV Srinivas was caught on camera escaping the police applying clever tactics. When police came approaching towards him, he abandoned his car and ran away on foot.

Rahul Gandhi is being investigated for alleged money laundering in National Herald case. He was told to appear before the ED on June 2 but couldn’t appear as he was abroad. The ED then issued a second notice on June 13. Accompanied by Priyanka Gandhi and hundreds of workers, he marched from party headquarters to the ED office from and was quizzed for hours.

Protesting against interrogation of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party launched ‘satyagraha’ and accused the government of political witch-hunt & vendetta politics.
