“This campaign should be run like the pulse polio campaign and for its success, 15,000 screening teams should be constituted so that they can visit every house for screening people,” the UP chief minister said.
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday asked officials to stay alert on the movement of people in NCR districts of the state to check the spread of COVID-19.
“By remaining alert in NCR districts (of UP), the spread of COVID-19 can be checked. There should be alertness on movement in these districts,” a statement quoted the CM as telling senior officials during a meeting with them.
10-day campaign in Meerut for screening suspected cases
Meanwhile, 10 days long intensive surveillance drive has begun in all the districts of Meerut division from today and will be run in state on the lines of pulse polio campaign to check suspected Corona patients.
More than 7,500 health teams visited households in all districts of Meerut division and did screening of all family members in the house, whether they are having any Covid symptoms or not.

Meanwhile, UP Health department has made available 50,000 extra Antigen test kits available in Meerut division. Senior officials also informed that there are currently more than 6,500 Covid help desks in the state which will prove important in breaking the chain of corona. Around 2500 suspected covid patients have been identified through these desks.
