Saryu banks sparkle with diyas, over 5.84 lakh earthen lamps lit up; Ayodhya creates new record

Representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records witnessed this ‘grand festival’ put up by the Uttar Pradesh government and finally put together such a large number of lamps in one place to be the new world record.

New Delhi: Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram witnessed a rare, exhilarating and a never-before experience on Friday as a record 5,84,372 earthen lamps were lit up in Awadhpuri, leaving everyone ecstatic. Be it a faithful, a devout or a tourist, the temple town was overwhelmed by the spectacle that had Lord Ram in every bit and every moment.

CM Yogi congratulates ‘Ram Bhakts’

Congratulating ‘Ram Bhakts’ on achieving the feat, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said the next year, even this record will be overhauled. He said this showed to all that how the pollution-free digital Diwali may be celebrated for which Ayodhya people should be especially complimented. The mass participation makes any festival merrier and attracts attention of the world.

At the Deepotsava in Ayodhya, lamps of faith, happiness and emotions were lit up on the banks of the Saryu river. It was a sight to behold as people were overjoyed and emotional. As record earthen lamps were lit up, it was also visible from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple construction, making the moment memorable and something which will be etched in the memory life long.

Amid the chants of ‘Ram Ram, Jai Raja Ram’ and ‘Jai Sia Ram’, it seemed that the waves in the river Saryu were also leaping out, driven by faith and joy, chanting the name of Lord Ram.

Ayodhya Deepotsav --

Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other cabinet colleagues on the occasion of Deepotsav lit Saryu Maiya’s Aarti by lighting a lamp. Due to the Covid protocol, different Aarti sites were prepared for the dignitaries at Naya Ghat.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also launched Saryu Maiya’s Aarti along with Jagadguru Vasudevacharya Vidyabhaskar Ji Maharaj, while Governor Anandiben Patel and Deputy Chief Ministers duo, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma, BJP state President Swatantra Dev Singh, Tourism Minister Neelkanth Tiwari worshiped Saryu from different places. Seven platforms were prepared for the Aarti by distinguished people.

Representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records witnessed this ‘grand festival’ and finally put together such a large number of lamps in one place to be the new world record. Blessings of Ram Lalla Sought For Public Welfare

The Chief Minister, who arrived in Ayodhya for the Deepotsav, first visited at the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi temple and visited Ram Lalla. At the time of Ram Lalla’s darshan, the trustees of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha area were also present with the Chief Minister.
