Self-reliant India will be a force multiplier for the world economy: PM Modi at India Energy Forum

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that self-reliant India will be a force multiplier for the world economy and energy security is at the core of our efforts while addressing the India Energy Forum.

India’s energy plans aim to ensure energy justice, the Prime Minister said, adding that this will be secured while fully following the country’s global commitments for sustainable goals.

In his address, Modi said, “Our energy sector will be growth-centric, investor friendly and environment conscious.” He also said that access to energy should be affordable and reliable.

The Prime Minister said India is one of the most active nations in furthering renewable sources of energy. “With a smaller carbon footprint, our energy sector will be growth-centric, industry-friendly and environment-conscious,” he added.

“India to grow oil refining capacity to 450 million tonnes by 2025 from current 250 million tonnes,” PM Modi added
