New Delhi: Due to lockdown, over hundred stranded migrant labourers protest at sivananda colony in Coimbatore district.

The labourers living mainly in Rathinapuri and sivananda colony in Coimbatore came out onto the streets today in protest as they have been severely affected in the lockdown.

Their main demand is to go home. After much negotiation with the police, the local cops provided them with food for three days and assured them that arrangements would soon be made for them to head back home.

The protesters were mainly natives of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The Tamilnadu has formed a special committee to deal with the migrant laborers translation process and the talks are on with the southern railways.
