New Delhi: This is a unique and praiseworthy initiative by ‘Team of Five Women’ who are setting new standards of social service during the lockdown.
Going beyond their call of duty, these women have taken upon the responsibility of ensuring social hygiene, especially in the poor and impoverished section of society. They are distributing sanitary pads to students (govt schools) and women in Preet Vihar area of the city.
‘Hum Paanch High 5’
Their organisation goes by name of ‘Hum Paanch High 5’. And, the members namely Meghwarna Umesh Dutta and Vinita Singh are lawyers by profession while Chhavi Kala Singh, Ruchi Aggarwal and Shilpi Rastogi are social activists.
Till now, they have distributed more than 2,000 sanitary pads in the area, with the help of police personnel. For their selfless service, they are also being admired and applauded by the people and society.
Talking to Newsroompost.com, these women described sanitary pads as yet another essential item for women, much like the foodgrains. Like NGOs & social groups extending helping hand to poor, they are also doing their bid as responsible citizens by equipping the needy and under-privileged to have a healthy life.

They believe there is still too much stigma attached to those 5 days of women’s lives and the onus is on educated citizens to raise awareness about it.
