New Delhi: The city residents woke up to pleasant morning on Monday, with temperature hovering just around 19 degree Celsius, a rare temperature in May. As the day progressed, many areas of the Delhi-NCR received bouts of drizzles & light rainfall, thereby bringing joy & delight to everyone’s faces.
The untimely rains in May though didn’t come as a surprise. The weather was pleasant since yesterday and today it was recorded 6 notches below normal. The day’s temperature is likely to hover around 26 degree Celsius.
Usually, the May month remains one of the hottest months in entire North India stretch as temperature jumps to more than 40 degree and people sweat in the sweltering heat.
With today’s temperature going at least 10 degrees below normal, the city residents were overjoyed & elated with the raingods. Many took to social media to share delightful moments of the rains.
The Meteorologial department has forecasted widespread rainfall with thunderstorm and hailstorm activity in several parts of India. The downpour is likely to stop after May 4 onwards.
