Ram Janki Marg: Yogi Adityanath announces new road connecting Lord Ram and Sita’s birthplaces

The Uttar Pradesh chief minister made the announcement while addressing an election rally in poll-bound Bihar’s Sitamarhi.

New Delhi: New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday announced a new road connecting Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh and Sitamarhi in Bihar, that will reduce the travel time between two cities to 5-6 hours.

Ayodhya and Sithamarhi, both towns mean immense historical and mythological significance for Hindus. Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Ram while Sitamarhi is considered to be the birthplace of goddess Sita.

UP CM said that new route will be called Ram-Janki Marg.

“A road is being constructed to connect Ayodhya and Sitamarhi which will be named Ram-Janki Marg, and can be travelled in 5-6 hours. I have especially come to congratulate and greet you all on the construction of Ram Mandir,” Yogi Adityanath said.

Addressing a poll rally in Bihar, the UP Chief Minister said that the road will be known as “Ram-Janki Marg”. He also slammed the opposition for the ‘jungle raj’ in the state, saying “they only know how to cheat people”.

BJP is seeking a return to power in Bihar with its ally the Janata Dal (United).

Yogi Adityanath is one of the star campaigners of the BJP-led NDA alliance in Bihar which is seeking a return to the power. He has addressed several rallies in the state, slamming the opposition and appealing people to vote the BJP and the JD(U).

Earlier in August, the foundation of the Ram Mandir was laid in Ayodhya after the Supreme Court directed the Central Government to hand over the site at Ayodhya for the construction of a Ram temple and set up a trust in its verdict on the Ayodhya issue.

The Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) approved the layout of the Ram Temple in September. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra had on August 29 submitted the layout of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and other documents related to it, to ADA for approval.

The first phase of Bihar assembly elections was held on October 28 and the remaining two are scheduled to be held on November 3 and November 7. Counting of votes will take place on November 10.
