UP government’s Twitter handle hacked after Yogi Adityanath’s office account

Reportedly, the account was hacked for at least 9 minutes at 11:21 AM today. Later, the account was restored.

New Delhi: Shortly after Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s office’s Twitter account was hacked, the state government’s official Twitter handle was targeted on Monday morning. A series of strange tweets were posted on the feed of the Twitter of ‘Government of UP.’

Reportedly, the account was hacked for at least 9 minutes at 11:21 AM today. Later, the account was restored.

During that time, a tweet by the official Twitter handle read, “In celebration for the reveal of the Beanz Official Collection, we have opened up an airdrop to all active NFT traders in the community for the next 24 hours! Claim your beanz. Take the red bean fren.”

Besides, on Saturday, the handle of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s office posted a series of random tweets, as a result of it being hacked. “An attempt was made to hack the official Twitter account @CMOfficeUP of the Chief Minister’s Office on April 09 at 12:30 am by anti-social elements, who had posted some tweets which were recovered immediately. (sic)”, a statement by the state government read.

Before, Punjab Congress’ Twitter handle was also hacked. The account posted random tweets and tagged multiple random users. The account has over 184 thousand followers. A post was pinned with a GIF image, that read, “In celebration for the reveal of the Beanz Official Collection, we have opened up an airdrop to all active NFT traders in the community for the next 24 hours! Claim Your Beanz (sic).” A similar post was posted today on the ‘Government of UP’ Twitter handle.

Notably, UP’s government official handle is the fourth account to be hacked in the past three days.
