UP govt to provide 10 lakh jobs in 6 months, install rapid-testing TruNet machines for Covid-19 in 75 districts

New Delhi: Yogi Adityanath-led UP government has prepared an action plan to provide 10 lakh jobs in the state in next 6 months. Uttar Pradesh is among the states that has seen large reverse migration during the lockdown.

At a high-level Unlock review meeting yesterday, CM Yogi Adityanath directed district magistrates to generate 1 crore working days of MGNREGA daily from 15th of this month. He said, with the help of departmental convergence it is possible to generate 1 crore working days through MGNREGA which will help maximum number of migrant workers and labourers. District magistrates have been asked to review and explore the avenues to generate employment through MGNREGA and send the report to the government within 3 working days.

The UP govt will be inking several memorandums of understanding with various industrial organisations, including Indian Industries Association, to provide for employment to over nine lakh migrant worker of the state, an official statement said last week.

The UP CM has also directed to commission TruNAT machines in all 75 districts by June 15 to ramp up Covid 19 testing facilities.

He instructed the officials to maintain adequate arrangements in COVID and Non-COVID hospitals, directing the ministers concerned to have regular feedback from various medical institutes and district hospitals.

“To get quick COVID-19 test results, the state government is providing TruNet machines on priority basis in all the 75 districts,” said CM in an Unlock 1 review meeting.

CM Yogi emphasised on increasing the testing capacity and to control the death rate in UP due to the virus.

He also instructed his team to take precautionary measures like providing PPE kits to keep the police personnel safe and continue to make people aware through the public addressing system regarding the prevention of COVID-19 infection.
