New Delhi: In a heart wrenching incident, a 13 year was raped in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district. According to media reports the girl was strangled, her tongue were cut, eyes pulled out and her body was found in a sugarcane field.
The police has arrested two men.
“The girl’s post mortem has confirmed rape. The two accused had been arrested already. We will file charges for rape, murder and also under the National Security Act,” said the district police chief.
“What is the difference between the previous Samajwadi Party government and present Bharatiya Janata Party government if Dalits are subjected to atrocities in this manner and murdered?” BSP Chief Mayawati attacked the Yogi-led UP incident on Twitter for such incidents in the state.

Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad also commented on the incident. “Dalit oppression is at its peak under the BJP government… If it is not the Jungle Raj, then what is? Our daughters are not safe, our homes are not safe, there is an atmosphere of fear everywhere. Yogi (Adityanath) resign,” he said.

Lat week, a man accused of raping a 6-year-old girl in western Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur was shot in the leg after he grabbed a cop’s gun and tried to flee, the police have said. Dalpat was arrested earlier in the day more than week after the girl was kidnapped and raped.
