UP Khadi and village industries board script history under PMEGP scheme

Even amidst pandemic, UP Khadi and Village Industries Board provided margin money for employment and business to the youth effectively.

New Delhi: Setting up new milestones of growth in Uttar Pradesh is the UP Khadi and Village Industries Board which has created new record in financial aid to start-ups and generating employment to youth.

The board has achieved a target of 106% against target set for utilization of margin money till January 16. An amount of Rs 8176.89 lakh as margin money has been given to 2376 units from the board. At the same time, it has also succeeded in providing employment to more than 21 thousand youth, along with this, all the working institutions associated with (PMEGP) across the country have achieved the target of 48.33 percent.

In last 3 years, it has made a notable contribution in making Gandhi’s Khadi, the first choice of people. The Board has directly and indirectly provided employment to 21751 people.

The Board issued margin money of Rs 8176.89 lakhs to 2378 units and achieved a target of 106 percent.

According to the Board, against the target of Rs 7716 lakhs, margin money of Rs 8176.89 lakhs has been paid to entrepreneurs, which is 106 percent of the target set. The Prime Minister Employment Generation Program is conducted in the state by UP Khadi and Village Industries Board, Khadi and Village Industries Commission and District Industries Center.

In the same, 77% of margin money has been used by District Industries Center and 36 percent margin money has been used by Khadi and Village Industries Commission. 74% margin money has been used in the state by all the three institutions.
