New Delhi: To provide better connectivity in the development of PM Mitra Mega Textile and Apparel Park, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is preparing to connect Atari village with a four-lane road. For this, many options are being considered, in which high quality work can be completed at low cost.
This Mega Textile and Apparel Park is being developed in Atari village located in Malihabad tehsil of Lucknow, in an area of about 1100 acres. It is noteworthy that the development of this park is likely to provide employment opportunities to 1 lakh youth. The state government expects investment of more than Rs 10000 crores in this park.
There are plans to equip this park with state-of-the-art facilities to make it globally competitive.
Several options considered for four-lane project
Through the development of the Textile and Apparel Park, the state government aims to fulfill all the needs of traders related to the textile industry under one roof, reducing the industry’s costs. Manufacturers will be provided with a basic infrastructure according to standards for exports.
As per the guidelines received by Additional Chief Secretary, Handloom and Textile Industry Department, Outer Ring Road (Ratha Underpass) to PM Mitra Park have a total length of 14.280 kilometers (construction of a four-lane road in the greenfield) and from Ratha Underpass to IIM has a total length of 8.800 kilometers (to widen a 3.00/3.70-meter-wide road to two lanes) at a cost of Rs 454.34 crore. This proposal was sent to the Public Works Department, Lucknow, by the Chief Engineer (Central Region) on November 2 for which the inspection is underway at the headquarters level.
Notably, there are a total of 6 options for the construction of the road, out of which Option-2 originates from the Outer Ring Road (Raitha Underpass) and goes to Atari Farm via Green Field, whose total length is 14 km and the cost is estimated at Rs 415.00 crore. Similar to Option-2, the total cost under Option-6 is Rs 454 crore. Under another Option-5, the already constructed Dubagga Mall Road from Dubagga IIM Ring Road goes to Atari Farm via Green Field, its total length is 24 km and the total cost of widening it four-lane is estimated at Rs 1415.25 crore.
Connectivity of this area is special
The Atari village of Lucknow has been selected keeping in mind the connectivity of the textile and apparel park. It is located 20 km away from NH-20 and SH-20, both of which are four-lane roads connecting Lucknow to Sitapur and Hardoi respectively. Additionally, there is a 6-lane Outer Ring Road 20 km away. Railway connectivity is also excellent, with Malihabad Railway Station 16 km away and Lucknow Railway Station 40 km away.
Moreover, the Lucknow International Airport is 45 km from the park, the dedicated freight corridor Kanpur node is at a distance of 95 km , and Dadri Terminal is at a distance of 500 km. Also, the Inland Container Depot is located 111 km away in Kanpur.
Park will be established on PPP mode
The park is proposed to be developed in PPP mode keeping in mind state-of-the-art facilities. Under this, core infrastructure will be constructed with Rs 500 crore, while a provision of Rs 300 crore has been made for manufacturing units, which will be on a first come first serve basis.
Notably, the construction of the park is divided into three parts to provide modern facilities: common infrastructure, social infrastructure, and premium space. The common infrastructure includes a road network, 24×7 power supply, water supply, warehouse, zero liquid discharge effluent treatment plant, training and skill development facility, administrative building, product display facility and testing laboratory along with exhibition center etc.
Similarly, social infrastructure includes worker hostels, housing zones, medical facilities, commercial and recreational facilities, open spaces and parks, security, etc. Likewise, premium space includes industrial plots and plug and industrial sheds.
