UP polls 2022: Akhilesh Yadav launches perfume labelled as ‘Samajwadi Attar’, will it woo voters?

Launching the socialist perfume, Akhilesh said ‘the scent will have its magic in 2022’ while SP MLC Pushpraj Jain said, “when people will use perfume, it will smell socialism. Samajwadi perfume will end the hate in 2022.”

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday launched a perfume branded as ‘Samajwadi Attar’, with an aim to woo the electorate ahead of Assembly elections in 2022.

Labelled as ‘Samajwadi Attar’, the perfume is made up of 22 natural scents and comes in green & red container.

The party is likely to push it as the ‘scent of socialism’ to build upon its socialist pitch and sway the voters in its favour.

As the election-bound Uttar Pradesh gets into poll mode, parties have begun giving their political spin. Recently, Akhilesh invoked Jinnah in a public address while Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Kairana was dubbed as the one with political motive.

What significance will have ‘Samajwadi Attar’?

Launching the socialist perfume, Akhilesh said ‘the scent will have its magic in 2022’ while SP MLC Pushpraj Jain said, “when people will use perfume, it will smell socialism. Samajwadi perfume will end the hate in 2022.”

The box of the perfume comes with a picture of Akhilesh Yadav on the bottle and SP’s election symbol inscribed on it.

Clearly, it’s an attempt by the party to mobilise the ‘like-minded’ electorate and build a ‘socialist atmosphere’ ahead of elections.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the party tried to garner support by launching a perfume. Back in 2016, Samajwadi Party had reportedly launched a range of perfumes called ‘Samajwadi Sugandh’.
