UP’s first Digital Budget aimed at upliftment of rural health infrastructure
The government has also made a budgetary allocation of Rs 100 crores for the State Employees Cashless Medical scheme.
Lucknow: Presenting its first paperless budget for the financial year 2022-23, the Yogi government has announced a budgetary allocation of Rs 7,053.56 crores for the Old Age Pension scheme.
The UP government also clarified that it intends to enlist more eligible beneficiaries under the scheme. To take the healthcare system of Uttar Pradesh to the next level, the Yogi government has also allocated a total of Rs 250 crores for the ‘Ayushman Bharat-Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana’.
The first-ever digital budget of the Uttar Pradesh government has also allocated Rs 320.07 crores for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), under which a cash incentive of Rs 5000 is provided to the pregnant women and lactating mothers in their bank or post office accounts directly.
It is also the first budget of the second term of the Yogi-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. The state budget also has a provision of Rs 620 crores and Rs 560 crores for PM ‘Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana’ and ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’, respectively.
The government has also made a budgetary allocation of Rs 100 crores for the State Employees Cashless Medical scheme. A provision has been made of Rs 300 crores in the budget to reimburse the ASHA workers and Urban ASHA Sanginis for their unparalleled contributions.
Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, while presenting the budget, had highlighted that a provision of Rs 2,908 crores has been made under different schemes on the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission.
25 crores proposed for establishing Super Speciality Hospitals
To provide adequate medical facilities for the poor in the rural and remote parts of the state, the Yogi government has allocated Rs 25 crores for setting up Superspeciality hospitals in the border areas.
