Uttar Pradesh: 27 districts become Covid-free, recovery rate climbs to 98.7%

As 27 districts with emphasis on strict screening, treatment and vaccination have given a boost to Uttar Pradesh in fight against coronavirus, the state’s Recovery Rate has climbed up to a remarkable 98.7 percent.

New Delhi: High recoveries and a low number of new Covid-19 cases have subsided the Active Covid Caseload in Uttar Pradesh to 250, while the percentage of active cases as against the total confirmed cases is 0 percent. The Active Covid-19 cases in the most populous state has been brought down by over a remarkable 99 percent from its peak capped at 3,10,783 cases on April 30.

On the contrary sparsely populated states like Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu account for a heavy Active Caseload of 2,18,923, 51,238 and 16,850 respectively.

Proactive measures such as the aggressive ‘Trace, Test & Treat’ mechanism, prevention through vaccination and Partial Corona Curfews to eradicate the pandemic, the UP government has worked in a phased manner to minimise its devastating impact, as a result of which the positivity rate has slumped to 0.01 per cent, the lowest in the country.

Arresting the spread of the virus, Uttar Pradesh limited the number of fresh infections to 19. In the same period, another 20 patients recovered from the infection.

The fresh infections have also been reduced by over 38,000 from its peak which was 38,055 capped on April 24. Where major other states have been witnessing a greater surge of fresh Covid-19 infections (daily cases ranging from 22,000-2,000), Uttar Pradesh has restricted the daily-case count below 100 for over 50 consecutive days.

In what comes as another big relief, none of the 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh have reported fresh cases of coronavirus infection in double-digits lately.

Indicating signs that the dangerous virus is receding from the state, as many as 64 districts reported no case of covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, whereas the other 11 districts reported new cases in just single-digits.
