Uttar Pradesh: Lineman snaps power supply of police station after being fined by cop

Swarup further stated that he did not have the papers at present but could go to his place and show the papers to Singh. However, the traffic cop was reluctant to hear him out.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh is the most populated state that experiences something or the other every day. Recently, a blizzard incident took place where a lineman from Bareilly cut off the power supply to Hardaspur police station after an inspector fined him for violating traffic rules. The man has been identified as Bhagwan Swarup.

Reportedly, the incident took place after he was stopped riding the bike by an official named Modi Singh. He was asked to provide the necessary papers by the officials. However, unable to provide the required documents, Swarup was fined Rs 500. Swarup further stated that he did not have the papers at present but could go to his place and show the papers to Singh. However, the traffic cop was reluctant to hear him out.

The incident made the lineman extremely frustrated and decided that with the help of his co-workers at the Electricity Department to get to the cop and cut off the police station’s power. While speaking to several media outlets, he stated that the police station was using electricity without any electric metre, which is illegal.

Electricity supply

This is not the first time such an incident has happened. In March, a power department employee snapped the electricity of a Badaun police station after he was fined by the traffic police over violating traffic rules. Reportedly, Ajay was returning home after repairing a power line in Kaili village when he was stopped by the Sub-Inspector Ram Naresh. He did not have the required documents and helmet and was fined for the same. Later, it was found out that Ajay informed Junior Engineer (JE) Satish about the incident. The power department employees somehow reached the police station premises and cut off 12 illegal connections.
