Uttar Pradesh’s MSME Dept gets Elets Award of Digital Excellence

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar graced the summit as ‘Chief Guest’ while the former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu was the Guest of Honour.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department on Saturday was honoured with an award for excellence in digital governance and services.

The MSME department of the state was chosen by Elets Technomedia, a renowned media organisation promoting ICT for governance across Asia and Middle East.

Elets, celebrating its 10th year of giving awards for good governance and innovative ideas, gave the Leadership Award to Additional Chief Secretary of UP, Navneet Sehgal for MSME UP e-service portal under the category of digital governance in a virtual ceremony.

Chief Executive Officer of Elets Dr. Ravi Gupta has appreciated that the portal not only facilitated small and micro manufacturers and businessmen in getting their issues resolved in no time, but also saved lots of time and energy.

He further informed, “We had received over 150 nominations from across the country. Out of that, we have selected 29 nominations for ‘Elets Awards for Excellence’.”

In total, Uttar Pradesh received 7 awards including 5 to state government and 2 to smart cities.

The state government received awards for MSME UP E-Service Portal under the category Digital Governance, Lucknow Municipal Corporation Bonds under the category Leadership in Governance, Jansunwai Samadhan under the category Digital Governance, UPPCL – Saksham Project under the category Green Energy – State Discom and SewaMitra Module of Integrated Sewayojan Portal under the category Digital Governance.

Under the category of Innovations in Smart Cities, the awards went to Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation for Integrated Command and Control Center and Agra Smart City Ltd foe Agra Lock Down Monitoring App.
