VIDEO: TMC’s Mahua Moitra used abusive language in Parliament, now remains defiant

Mahua’s offensive rant , apparently directed at BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, was caught on camera while she stood briefly, when TDP leader Ram Mohan Naidu was delivering his speech in the House.

New Delhi: Mahua Moitra, the fiery Parliamentarian of Trinamool Congress (TMC), resorted to name-calling the fellow members on treasury benches on Tuesday, thereby triggering huge uproar in the Lok Sabha.

The TMC MP used abusive language on floor of the House while training guns at Modi government in the ongoing Budget Session.

Mahua’s offensive rant , apparently directed at BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, was caught on camera while she stood briefly, when TDP leader Ram Mohan Naidu was delivering his speech in the House.

Following her utterance of unparliamentary language, the BJP members created ruckus in the House and raised demands for an apology from the TMC MP.

Mahua claimed that she was being heckled by BJP lawmakers and a deliberate attempt was made by them to disrupt her speech. Though, it was not taken on record but the small clip made its way to social media and elicited many comments from netizens.

Mahua was targeting the government on multiple issues ranging from BBC documentary row to Prime Minister’s alleged links with billionaire Gautam Adani. She accused the Modi government of promoting crony capitalism and favouring Adani Group in mega deals. She was also unsparing in her criticism of SEBI, for latter being a ‘silent watcher’ while the stock markets witnessed major crash.

TMC MP defiant over ‘abuse’ in House

TMC MP has been in line of fire of BJP leaders, with Hema Malini asking her to exercise restraint & not getting ‘over-excited’. After ruckus in house, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi also sought an apology from the TMC leader.

However, Mahua Moitra remains defiant and has rather hit back at BJP for projecting itself as the ‘custodian of parliamentary etiquettes’.

“I’ve called an apple, an apple and I stand by it,” defiant Mahua told reporters today, a day after controversy.

She also listed out instances of ‘indecent behaviours’ by BJP MPs and asserted that she will stand her ground even if she has to face privileges committee of Parliament.
