New Delhi: In an embarrassing slip of tongue, BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia who changed camp from the Congress to the BJP in March while addressing a rally asked people to vote for his former party Congress.

A video, in which Scindia is seen seeking votes for the Congress during a rally in favour of BJP candidate Imarti Devi from Dabra town in Gwalior, has gone viral on social media.

In the video, Scindia is heard saying, “My people of Dabra, raise your hand and make your fist to convince (state chief minister) Shivraj Singh and me, make us believe that you will press the ‘hand’ button on November 3.”

Watch what Scindia said:

Though he corrected himself, there was tittering from the crowd and even the candidate standing beside him could be seen grinning.

Imarti Devi was among the 22 MLAs who left the Congress fold and joined the BJP in March, bringing down the government of Kamal Nath. In the run-up to the campaign, he had called her “item”, for which he was denounced across the board.

In another viral video, Scindia alleged that former Chief Minister Kamal Nath had called him a “dog”. “Yes, I am a dog, and my owner is the public,” Scindia said at a rally in Sadora, The Times of India reported. The Congress denied the allegation, saying that the word was never used by Kamal Nath.
