
New Delhi: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and Bengal BJP MLA Arindam Bhattacharya on Wednesday visited the residence of martyred soldier Gnr (GD) Subodh Ghosh of 59 Med Regiment and paid floral tributes for his ultimate sacrifice.
They met his family members in native Raghunath village in Nadia and also handed over a cheque of Rs 11 lakh.
Governor Dhankhar and Arindam Bhattacharya were accompanied to martyred jawan’s residence by Army Commander, GOC in C, Eastern Command Lt Gen Anil Chouhan.
Governor Dhankhar and MLA Arindam Bhattacharya consoled the family over their son’s demise and assured of all possible assistance to the family.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar provided financial assistance of Rs 5.5 lakh to martyr’s wife and mother each.
It may be noted that Arindam Bhattacharya, legislator from Nadia’s Santipur constituency recently quit TMC and joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Gnr (GD) Subodh Ghosh of 59 Med Regiment made the supreme sacrifice for the nation while protecting the borders at Line of Control (LoC). He became target of Pakistani firing during ceasefire violations last year.
Days before his martyrdom, Gnr (GD) Subodh Ghosh had become father.
