West Bengal: Arjun Singh claims 5 TMC MPs ‘set to join BJP’, Sougata Roy rubbishes report

TMC MP Sougata Roy has come forward and said that he firmly stands with his party and will never join BJP. Roy, while speaking to a news agency slammed BJP MP Arjun Singh as a “third-class” politician and “Bahubali”.

New Delhi: BJP MP from Barrackpore Arjun Singh on Saturday dropped a bomb when he claimed that 5 Trianmool Congress (TMC) are set to resign from the party and switch sides to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Arjun Singh named Sougata Roy, one of the TMC’s tallest leaders, among those defecting the Didi-led party.

He also claimed that West Bengal govt will fail to return to power this Assembly elections and it is BJP which will take up the reigns of state.

Meanwhile, TMC MP Sougata Roy has come forward and said that he firmly stands with his party and will never join BJP. Roy, while speaking to a news agency slammed BJP MP from Barrackpore Arjun Singh as a “third-class” politician and “Bahubali”.

“This is nothing but a part of BJP’s campaign. It is BJP IT Cell Head Amit Malviya’s technique to spread a lot of fake news,” he added.

BJP MP Arjun Singh on Saturday made a statement that TMC MP Sougata Roy along with 5 other MPs are going to join BJP.

Meanwhile, TMC leader and state minister Suvendu Adhikari’s leaving his party is an open question as on various occasions like in Nandigram and Midnapore he has been identified holding public meetings without the party’s symbol, flag or banner.

West Bengal is scheduled to go for Assembly polls in mid-2021.
