Yogi Adityanath is popular choice for UP Chief Minister, over 47% want him as CM again: Opinion Poll

Yogi Adityanath surpassed all the candidates to be the first face among the Chief Minister candidates ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, as per the latest opinion poll.

New Delhi: Yogi Adityanath has left behind all other Chief Ministerial candidates in race for the top post. According to latest opinion poll, more than 47% people want to see him return as the Chief Minister while his closest rival remain at distant position. In Bundelkhand region, CM Yogi’s popularity is highest with 50% electorate nodding for him while other regions Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, Ruhekhand, and Awad also consented for his second term.

Reportedly, the opinion poll was conducted by Zee New in association with Design Boxed.

Let’s dive into the detail to understand the public mood

1)Purvanchal

In Purvanchal, CM Yogi Adityanath was ranked at the top with a 48% vote. Akhilesh Yadav secured the second spot with a 35% vote, followed by Mayawati (9%), Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (5%). The rest of the total votes went to others.

2)Bundelkhand

The residents of Bundelkhand gave a 50% vote to CM Yogi Adityanath, while Akhilesh Yadav received a 31% vote. Mayawati was placed at the third spot with an 11% vote, followed by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (5%) and others (3%).

3)Ruhekhand

In the Rukhekhand region of UP, CM Yogi received 47%  vote and Akhilesh Yadav received 10% less vote than the CM. However, Mayawati again secured the third position with a 9% vote and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was placed at the fourth spot with a 3% vote. The rest 4% vote went to others.

4)Awadh

The Awadh region of UP consists of the capital Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya among others.  The opinion poll was topped by Yogi Adityanath with 47%, followed by Akhilesh Yadav (34%), Mayawati (10%), Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (5%), and others (4%).

Notably, the polling in Uttar Pradesh will be held in 7 phases on 403 seats. The first phase will start on February 10 and the voting will end on March 7.
