New Delhi: Yogi Adityanath has taken oath for the second time as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh at a grand ceremony in Lucknow’s Ekana stadium. The BJP leader was joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on stage.
Reportedly, Brajesh Pathak who served as the Law Minister in the last term will be appointed as deputy CM this term. Brajesh switched from BSP to BJP, has now become the party’s Brahmin face. This year, three ministers from Kanpur Dehat have been made ministers in the UP government namely Rakesh Sachan from Bhognipur, Ajit Pal from Sikandra, and Pratibha Shukla from Akbarpur.
Invitations to attend the grand ceremony were sent to chief ministers, Union ministers, ministers of other states, and industrialists. Besides, Yogi Adityanath personally called former UP chief ministers Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, and Mayawati and invited them.
PM Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and several Union Ministers were present at the grand ceremony. Besides, the Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled states and party leaders also attended the oath-taking ceremony.
Adityanath was sworn by Governor Anandiben Patel in a packed stadium with over 50,000 attendees.
Apart from the congratulatory wishes for the politicians and eminent members, the general public and netizens are flooding social media with warm and best wishes for his second term. One of the users wrote, “Congratulation #YogiAdityanath ji I AM VERY PROUD THAT You are reelected CM of UP,” while another one wrote, “A CM who broke many myths, misconceptions and milestones and overcame as winner. #YogiAdityanath”
